It would probably work if the bottom wasn't to soft and you didn't step on a snake or gator
Was watching a video from Grenada where they were wade fishing for spawning fish in the spring. I know that a lot of areas around here had really high water the last few winters and almost into the summer. I had a hard time locating/catching them during the spring spawn and am wondering if wading might help. Anybody ever tried it around here? They were deep in the woods where there's no way you could maneuver a boat. Seems that tactic would work in flooded woods in the atchafalaya basin.

Like by said soft bottom. Also the spillway is flooded with river water which is colder than other waters. Some of the best catching I've had is when the swamp stays low for da spawn.

That’s how we do it in the spring during the spawn! Especially in high water they run deep in the woods and you can’t get a boat to them so we get in the water with them and hunt em down

I have seen lots of instances of this at Saline. Always wanted to try it. Water has been too high last few springs.

Saw Bill Dance do it on one of his shows a long time ago. Looked like a lot of fun!!!
