Just want to say how "BLESSED" I am to have my Crappie.com family! From BigJohn75200, giving us a place to stay while Mrs. Laura WREAKED HAVOC on our homes back in south Lake Charles, and letting us stay as long as we needed. To DocWaldo who cooked us an awesome steak dinner while we were staying at Johns. To Slab Hunter and Deacon, along with several other friends, helping clean up and basically move my mom and dad's house to my house. To RM George, you know what you offered and I don't want to get you in any trouble, lol. To PawpawGene offering to make the long drive over to help out. To LouisianaFishNut calling and offering to make that long drive down just to help out a family in need, To Mo Slab calling just to make sure we were ok and offering assistance. To D, who was also dealing with Mrs. Laura's aftermath calling to check on us. To Skippa Chippa, messaging me to see if we have electricity (we don't!) and making sure we were ok, we are! And to EVERYONE on here that offered up prayers for our area! Please forgive me if I forgot anyone on here, I promise it was not done on purpose!
This post was just to say THANK YOU and to share that none of this would not have happened if I had not met any of you wonderful people! What is ironic is that the main reason that I am a member of the crappie.com family was because of another bad hurricane that hit our area - Rita! I use to be a very dedicated duck hunter! Well the area that I always hunted - Sabine Refuge in Hackberry, LA, was SEVERELY AFFECTED by Rita! All of the areas that I use to hunt, were no longer accessible. So I turned to another love of mine - Fishing! Was cruising the web one day in 2005 and decided to join crappie.com and as they say - "The rest is history!"
Thank you Ed for such a great forum and a place where I have met Many great people that I will value for the rest of my life!
