    Someone else might want to chime in here, but I've heard some folks complaining of lakes turning over after the storm passed.
    Only need three more years before I can think like a fish.

    Have seen it at a few places-some from storm surge, some from decaying matter zapping oxygen, some from winds/current turning bottom up, etc.

    Fish kills are very common after hurricanes. Surprisingly I’ve seen the fisheries recover pretty well in as little as 2 years, but that really stinks (no pun intended)...

    To be expected when in the dirrect path of a hurricane. The wind and water action stirs up all the dead material on the bottom which is not rotten. Once stirred, it starts to rot and draws all the oxygen from the water.

    This bayou runs behind my house (Bayou Courtableu).
    I’ve been here 5 yrs, flood of 2016, Hurricane Barry.....I’ve never seen it black like this...It’s usually reddish/brown
