Just read my owners manual for breaking in....for the first 2 hours it said to "run at varied throttle up to 4500 rpm, and at full throttle for one minute every 10 minutes"....I did that today and can tell you that after "break in" I don't think I will be running wide open much....this 150 motor is much faster than my old 150....hole shot is much better....

Runs fast and quiet....throttle and steering feels a little different but not a problem...much less trim is required...hole shot is quick....Didi and I put 1.6 hours on the motor our first trip....covered every corner of Henderson...I can tell you that I will not be running wide open....my new tach will give me tons of info...engine coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, battery voltage and water pressure...

    Sounds like a smart man.
For someone who sculled around most of his life, I’ve read a ton about break in procedures. If I was ever so lucky, I don’t think I’d follow manufacturers recommendations.
    But I’m waaay dumb
