Has anyone really just tore them up in there. Its a nice lake but I haven't just tore them up in there. I seen some folks catching catfish using worms and a cork. They had probally 15 fish. It looked fun...

Bayou Slab Hunter, percher, B&M BOBM, dmann436, Thats all the names I can think of at the moment. These guys fish it or have fished it, maybe they will reply, if not, maybe send them a pm. From what I hear, there are lots of fish there and most of the time it sounds like there are more boats than fish...lol... Your best bet may be to try going during the week when there is alot less pressure on the lake.
here is the search on poverty point, maybe you can find out what your wanting to know reading through some of the post.

You can't fish with a hung line!
The pressure is off now. I've never fished it this late in the year since Bob says its not a good summer time lake. Catfish would be your best, for-sure bet. Tons of those in there. I didn't do as well this winter/spring as last year. The presure was off too. Not many folks fishing for some reason. Sounds like you have a good spot with Bakers Cutoff. Don
I fish it when there were no one fishing crappies and everyone was chasing the bass the first year it open. The problem with the lake there are only 3 places that I found where the crappie would hang out. Then everyone heard that people were catching crappies and everyone fish it and the problem I found out was that lots of people were pulling out 200 to 400 fish each over 2 to 4 day fishing trip with about 200 people fishing each day. This for over the first 2 years and I feel put a hurting on the fish. This is why they had to limit to 25 crappies.
I agree, I live only 15 miles from PP, 8 miles from Bakers Cut off. I fished the lake the first 2 years, and now I don't waste my time there. We caught very good, but the pressure made it unpleasent. Fishing is not as good now. Sometimes of the year it is good, but new's travels fast & so does the boats.
I agree with you Crappie Cat the word gets around fast and it ruins the lakes most of the time. It's a pretty lake. My wife and I thought about buying a place on the lake but thats a pretty good ride back an forth to work. You have some nice lakes in the area to fish.
Haven't been online much lately due to my ComCast crashing on regular
intervals and I just thought that TimeWarner Cable was bad.....All of my
experience on Poverty is terrible once the weather turns hot. I went over
there about 2 weeks ago and brought my camper back to Monroe. After
pulling out of the RV park, they only had 52 spaces (out of 54 total) left.
I suppose the one camper left might have been broken down.....also, the
south boat ramp had 4 vechicles instead of the normal 50 or 60..that
should tell you something......If you go, catfish are your best bet!!!!
ALWAYS DREAMING ABOUT FISH'N...AND PLEASE REMEMBER THAT "A LAD WHO FISHES WITH HIS DAD SELDOM TURNS OUT BAD".
HMMMMM some folks on here are being mighty quite, and Im not tell who but you know who you are!!!!! LOL
In our government-controlled schools we are taught that Lincoln was our greatest president because his war ended slavery and saved the Union. As usual, the other side of the story – the side that reflects poorly on the government – somehow gets lost. – Richard J. Maybury, The Abe Lincoln Hoax
Im going camping there next weekend. Give me some advice!!!!!!!!!! Have not been there in a few years.
Hey MOQUACK....I'm sure that most are working or out fishing.....can't hold it against the guys if they have a chance to get out to go fishing! But on the other hand, they might be toiling away working and will be back soon enough.
