Got there a daylight ready to put the smack down on some crappie.

Fish weren't having it though. First three stops produced two bites and one keeper.

What to do now?

Keep moving, changing jig color, jig sizes, depth, speed, technique. Nothing seemed to be making much difference. Fish just weren't biting, at 10:30 I had 5 in the box and whiffed on 2 more I should have caught.

I scratch my head for a minute and thinks to myself. Historically if they're not biting on the lower end of bayou they are biting on the upper end and vice versa.

So I tell myself, self let's throw a hail marry cause what ya doin ain't working. Role my lines up and make about a 3 mile run up the bayou.

First tree I stop at nuttin, second tree I boat 3. Says to myself, self you made the right csll.

Scratched around for another hour and picked up about 10 mo keepers and tossed about that many more.

I hope when I go back they're where I left them, don't want to have to rechew this same ground every trip....

PS, better be looking for them wasp nest when you circling them trees too....
