Welcome to the forum from deep south La. Henderson is very fishable with a kayak. You can launch at the free public landing at the Butte LaRose exit under the I-10 brigdes. From there it's a short paddle to the nearest water that leads either on the south side or the north side into the swamp. Fish can be just about anywhere on a given day.
Lake Verret has some spots if the wind isn't up. The lake can get rough. The Attackapaw (sp) landing at the end of highway 401 from highway 1 at Napoleonville put you right on the lake. With a light north to east wind you should be able to fish the shore line in both directions from the landing. Lake DesAllamandes is reachable from highway 643 off of highway 20 near Vacharie. There are some undeveloped lots where you can launch right off of the road and fish the dug canals. Good luck with your fishing. Taking your time to learn an area well will do you more good than trying to learn a bunch of places not so well.
