Took my boys camping at Chicot State Park this weekend. Fished for a couple hours this morning and a few this afternoon. Ended up with 7 keepers, mostly big chinquapin. I did catch my first sac-a-lait in this lake, on a cricket. I’ve tried before with no luck so always stuck to bream fishing here. Threw back 5-10 more bream and small bass. Water was muddy and we didn’t get on a school of fish until we found some clearer water on the south end of the lake around 6 this evening. Only had 2 when we stopped at the last spot and caught the rest in about 30 minutes before leaving them biting. All were caught on crickets about 2 ft deep in 5-6 fow. We did try some jigs with no luck. We will be back next month for 3 days so I’ll be trying to find some sacs now that I know they do exist in this lake lol.
