Ok now for the rest of the story....I have read posts on here until I am blue in the face...i have watched Richard Gene videos....cuz it's good fer ya!!!!!and I went out Saturday to dubisson...french for mudhole from december to may.....and proceeded to find fish trolling.....cranks and longlining....neither of these methods productive....then I sat over brushpiles and this was not productive either.....I took the picture of the christmas tree because it looked like it was in a foot of water...and it was in a foot of water....so happened that the brushpiles I was fishing were nearby so I put a 1/32 jighead that I bought a pack of when I got the shiners and i put an ild time cork on my line...a 10 foot b n m rear seat jiggin pole and went to work.....started at the christmas tree and down da bank I went.....well not far from the christmas tree....oh yeah, there was a shiner(Bruce) on the jighead......and I was fishing 8-10 inches deep....right down the bank from the christmas tree the bank depth was less than 8 inches...so me bein the cajun that I am just twitched it(JR) till it was greater than 8 inches deep and the cork disappeared....happened so fast I lost my breath....lol....any ways I regained my senses and set the hook....that's the bass...first fish sympathy and he was small so I let him go...still 2 filets that I COULD have had....good thing for him he wasn't the third fish.....so I worked my way down the bank dipping sticks and branches and then BAM!!!!a sacalait from less than 12 inches of water(20watt)......as you can imagine I needed resuscitation at this point...after all it is March AND the water is thick with mud.....well Got another shiner on pulled anther sac .....OUT OF THE SAME HOLE.......so now I of all people have a SPOT!!!!!!!my point of all this is getting out of my comfort zone(MO)
and doing something different....which may take some getting used to.....and just because I can't fish every week doesn't mean I can't learn about fishing and use it for confidence the next time I get to go.....crappie .com folks ARE the best and without it I would not be still fishing for sacalait today...water temp 63 muddddddy winds from the north which was protected on the bank I was fishing...then it got dark and I had to go....saw wildlife and fisheries on the way out....all was legal and I thanked him for his service....he was very nice.
Thanks Fish on Line thanked you for this post
