Saline Larto is one of the best lakes in Louisiana and not too far from you. But right now the water is rising and probably will be for awhile.

I am new to the forum. And wondering if anyone is from around Alexandria that has any lakes for suggestion. Not looking for your hunny hole. Just a few pointers or a good lake to fish on.
Thanks.

Red river is falling now and the boat ramps are open. Once the river rises they will shut down the ramps again. I have fished an oxbow at fort buehlow. Pretty water. Has fish. Good free boat ramp.

Welcome from Natchitoches parish I was born and raised in Alexandria and grew up 10 mins from Kincaid lake and within 30 mins from Cleco and Cotile but I haven't fished any of those lakes in years. Like Mo Slab said in the above post you are right there by Cleco and Cotile and both are great places to crappie fish but I never see any reports from either. Sorry I couldn't be of more help
