Muddy water with temp of 63 at 1pm to 58 at 6 pm. fish and bait marked at 5 to 8 ft range in 17 fow.....shiners...no....jigs no.....cranks....nope.....also fished the bank some because thats what the natives were doing and......no......but I was rejuvenated after a looooong week of work.....no bait balls seen but there was a lot of shiner activity at the surface every time I was in 17 -18 fow....so I'm sure the bait was there......you can tell when that shiner on the hook gets nervous....so you know the predators were there.....just did not happen to have any takers........

Sometimes getting skunked makes you want to go back even more knowing there should fish on ice.

It is a lot easier to get skunked when you learn from people who are as kind as the people on CDC......always encouraging and supportive....and by golly fishing is just fun.....
Don't feel bad I caught a skunk yesterday myself. Made up for it today though

I passed a dead skunk last week. I been about once a week or so. Catching a few bass, but can't find the crappie yet. Should turn on soon. January was the hot month last year, but not biting much yet this year. Water about 47 degrees around here.Gonna go after small mouth's next week in the Tn. river. Pickwick lake low, but finally settling down. They move the level much more than TB. Dam finally closing down from 1.9 million gallons per second to 750,000 gallons per second. Believe it or not, that's not to bad in the river. I will admit I miss my camp at TB.
Well as you can see my luck has not changed here during the winter months.....if you catch some smallies I’d like to see those pics....good luck to you when you go and i miss you.....mostly miss Mae.....cuz she is a LOT prettier than you are......lol
