Now that’s the kind of fun I like to have. Those are great looking fish. I’m happy you get to go home with a few more great memories under your belt.

I was able to get back on D'arbonne Monday-Wednesday, the last three days before heading back to Michigan. Monday started good with the fish biting early in the day then taking a break before biting again around noon. I fished until about 3:00 and ended with 17, most in the 11" range and a few topping 13".
Tuesday I was on the water at the crack of dawn but didn't get bit until 7:30, then it was crazy for about 45 minutes. After the barrage they shut down for a long time, I didn't catch another fish until nearly noon. I had to be off the water early so I could get a roast in the oven and when I put the boat on the trailer at 1:30 I had 10 good fish.
Wednesday I had a boat partner, my buddy Melvin, took a day off work to fish with me. The bite was steady all morning and we were able to laugh a little, swap a few lies and put around 20 fish in the box. Mel headed home at 2:00 with our 20 and another 20 from a fellow who was leaving the same time as us. He got called into work and didn't have time to take care of his fish.
All three days were the same program, they wanted shiners 15' down early then moved deeper later in the day, around 20" deep. I got a few on plastics but they seemed to want shiners. I did notice that when I doctored my plastics up with G Sauce I got more bites on my shiners. I think the G sauce got their attention and the shiner sealed the deal.
I fished Jakes Landing all three days.
I sure enjoyed my stay in Louisiana and I hope you enjoy the pictures.

That's some nice fish for sure! I'm still interested in that ice fishing! Although no telling when I will be able to get up there.

I'll let you know when the ice is good. You think of walking out or taking the truck? Nothing like driving to your spot, unloading the gear and catching fish within feet of the back bumper.
