When I noticed mine was gone there was no telling how long it had been off. Looked like it had just broken off, but someone could have bent the bracket over and over until it gave. Never had a permanent plate and sounds like I want be getting one after reading here.

If I was to get the quick release for my license plate I would just be making it that much easier for the thief. I would still forget to take it off and he could steal it with no tools. Now he would have to put out a little effort and give me time to put the cross hairs on him.

Oh I forgot to mention the 8 fillets fried up just fine with the 4 beers to help swollow the cost of the replacement. All is good now.

Actually, I've forgotten to take it off several times and still have not lost a plate. I think that people do not realize what the two black things are.
