Default Oh Well, I Tried. Had a Great Time.

Went up to 20Watts stomping grounds, AKA the Bonne Idee, this morning. Didn't have much good luck at all, but had a good time anyway. The old devil tries to steal our joy by throwing obstacles in the way, but the Lord gives us the power to overlook many of those obstacles so that we can have a good time in His beautiful world no matter what the devil throws at us. Caught one keeper and let it go. Caught 2 that were 3-4 inches long. Threw them back too. Didn't talk to anyone else that had caught much either. One guy had two.

The Bonne Idee is just as beautiful as I remembered. I will be back. Thank You, Lord, for creating beautiful lakes for us to fish in. Even when we don't catch any or many fish, we can still enjoy Your creation.

The water pump on Mercury wouldn't pump a drop out of the pee hole. Used the trolling motor until batteries wore out in about 2 hours. Got loaded back on the trailer and home. Looked on line for new batteries; found some Duracell batteries at Batteries+Bulbs. I had 27 series batteries that were 4 years old. Now, I have series 31 batteries that are brand-spanking new. Also, got the water pump flushed out and working properly; I hope. Maybe I am ready for next weekend. Look out Bonne Idee, here I come for round two.

I'm glad you enjoyed your outing. This little tip may help with the pee hole water pump problem. I have a bad mud dobber problem over here and they like to build nest everywhere even in the pee hole so I started putting a plastic tye wrap in the hole. It blocks the entrance enough to keep the wasp out but enough room for the water to pass.

Thanks for the tip. That is one of the great things about this site, so much knowledge and so many people who are willing to share it. Thanks again, Skippa Chippa

All this time I thought I was the only one that went out on the lake to get some me time. Talk to my lord and reminisce of the people that have gone to be with the lord before me. I just love being on the lake watching the wildlife. Only caught two fish yesterday and I gave them to a man just starting to learn to fish for crappie. That gave him three fish for supper.

Good post, Pastor. Sounds like the crappie on Bonne Idee are going to meet a prepared man real soon. Good fishing.

Pastor that lake sounds like a wonderful place to spend some time alone. Too bad I live so far south.
