I was going to go to Lake Louie Sunday morning, but went to Larto instead. Put in at Bud's, better ramp than one a bit nearer. Nice man, maybe a guide, helped me get my boat out. Caught a few bass, no sacs. Went up toward Shad Lake. It's only been 50 years since I was there. Found some interesting spots, but no sacs biting. Saw people catching tiny bream on the way from Larto to Shad Lake. Nice day, not too hot, just a little bit wet, thankfully no lightning! Fished Old River this morning, had a big sac on, but he got off. Then a small bass and a catfish. Everybody was moving around a lot, so probably they weren't catching much either. Back on the other side of the state working tomorrow!

August and September are the worst months for Larto.

SMILE- A curve that can set a lot of things straight!
August and September are truly hard months to fish at Larto Lake. I have been fishing Saline. Much better. I'm patience toy waiting for a bit of cooler weather.

I explored towards Saline, but took a wrong turn that burned a lot of time. Ended up my an oil well with buzzards on it. Only went from Saline to Larto once, and that was 50 years ago. I used to fish Saline out of Woodson's landing when I was in high school. A lot has changed since then. A lot to learn, but fun process.
You were just short of being in Shad Lake. The area you were is called the Buzzard Roost. Directly across from it is Chapman's bay. During the colder months that area is great for white perch.

Thank you. I've got to find a better map, aerial view. It is frustrating when you know how many fish are in that water and you can't find them/make them bite. Then again if it was too easy, there would be no puzzle to solve. I remember going fishing with a guide in Buras, La. We caught a lot of fish and it was fun, but I didn't get to solve the puzzle, so it was an empty experience in a weird way.
