Not bad for a slow day

Went to Old River in Morganza with 2 neighbors for the get together today. Ended up with a good variety. 24 fish in the ice chest altogether. 11 sacs, 8 bream, 3 Bass, 1 catfish, and 1 barfish.

Caught 2 bass on a buzz bait and 1 on a red shad worm. Lost 2 or 3 more good ones at the boat.

Caught the sacs on shiners. Most were caught after lunch. The biggest one of the day slipped out of our hands and into the water. Probably a 2 and a half pounder. Threw back a couple more.

Bream were caught on crickets around the rafts. Threw back about 10. Catfish was caught tight-lining a worm while nothing else was biting and the barfish was caught on a shiner.

Overall it was a good trip. Planning to fry some up tomorrow with the neighbors and go back again next weekend for some more.

Me too. I’ll take a slow day like this anytime. Nothing bit consistently, even the bream turned off for a while. If I can have 3 days like this next weekend I’d be thrilled though.
