The Michigan boys made it home safe and sound. Got home at 2 in the afternoon on Sunday, happy to be out of the truck. I want to thank the Maxwells for putting on this get together and making us feel like a part of the Louisiana CDC family. It was good to visit with Danny again, I met him in June at our camp but feel like I've known him my whole life. BillBob, you are a class act my friend. It's easy to see why Slab is so fond of you. Heck, the rest of us are, too. Skippa and Spot, we enjoyed meeting both of you. Shadow, thank you again for the jam and sausage and the invite to come down and visit you. Larry, it's a good thing you do with the fishing rods for kids and we were happy to supply you with a few rods and reels, just remember, those are norther rods and might be better for catching walleye than crappie. I tried to meet everyone that was there and hope I did and it was my pleasure meeting all of you. The food was fantastic and the company even better. I will be back next year.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing

I believe if I was to Google "Southern Hospitality" the definition would be Louisiana Crappie.com fishermen and their family and it was on full display at the gathering! Ya'll know how to do it up right!!!!!
Everyone I met made me feel so welcome, like I was part of your family. I told my wife before I left, I was anxious to try the southern dishes that would be at the gathering......and wow was that some fantastic eating, things I've never had before! I knew the correct way to say Pecan Pie but I had never tried a real one before (just those little .50 cent ones at Wal-Mart) that piece of Pecan pie sent my taste buds to the moon!
The fish didn't co operate but at least I take a little comfort that it wasn't just me as most everyone had their struggles getting those fish to take the bait.
First I need to thank Jerry for asking me to go with him and Jeff to this event and then to my wife Just Judy for insisting I go, and to Jerry's son Craig for letting me stay at his house. Thanks Shadow Dwyane for the jellies and deer sausage, Thanks to my Grandpa "D" for spending a couple great days on the water in his boat, the trip to Duck Dynasty tour in East Monroe......D you are a true friend that I feel like I've known forever! The Maxwell family for hosting this event and all you do to make it happen, you boys got a walleye trip coming your way whenever you can make it up here. Billbob thanks for the BnM fishing combo for Aiden, and a big thanks to BnM for the rod and reel, I will make sure I get some pics of it being used by Aiden! That shore lunch was fantastic, the chili sure hit the spot on a cold day. A big Thank you to everyone who I was able to shake your hand, put a screen name with a face and talk a little bit, you all made the trip worth it!
To Slab for all he does for everyone and the years you have put into this site for us all to enjoy the fellowship not only on the forum but also with events such as this......I don't know how you came up with the idea to start a forum such as this, but I'm thankful you did and I'm happy I found it!
I hope I can make it to another event, I'd love for my wife to see and expierience Louisiana crappie fishing, and the wonderful people I met.
Thank You one and All !

One more Thank you:
I am hoping to put a state Crappie.com sticker on each side of my truck for each state I visit and catch at least one crappie at.
Thanks RMGeorge and D for the truck stickers and a extra for my boat wind tunnel blocker.

For you folks from Michigan -- Glad you got home safely.. All Team Overalls love Pecan Pie and even have it for Breakfast Like 'D' said it was a Bucket List thing to finally Meet 20 Watt and his family, Having Bill Bob in Team Overalls is Classic. Paw Paw Gene's wife Miss Linda designed the CDC sticker on your truck and you got to meet Her... Just one question -- have you ever seen on sonar so many fish stacked up in the channel with Lockjaw ??? All they have to do is open their Mouth and something will swim In.
