Its a good cement ramp I don't see why you couldn't. How big and heavy is your boat?

Actually I usually fish out of my kayak, even cranking! I have a 15' aluminum with 25. I have been fishing that oxbow since it opened, but not in the last few years, used to launch in Alexandria and run to oxbow with 25 on aluminum, doesn't take long. I didn't think there were any fish left there, lol! We caught hundreds over several years, crappie, bass, catfish and barfish. Thanks for info, may try either way soon.

How do you set up your kayak for cranking?

I have a 12 ft Nucanoe Frontier, Minnkota 45 lb trolling motor, digital maximizer. Nucanoe has rails along the inside to mount rod holders and a transom to mount tm. I have a Garmin depthfinder, came with a tm transducer mount. Now, to the good part. Years ago I invented a tm setup, you would have to see it. Allows me to sit in middle, run tm in back. So, Nuance is very stable, my seat is normal height, rod holders on each side and depth finder is where I can read it! I use size 29 interstate battery, I've gone 10 miles one way in Saline and on the coast in the marsh! So, text me at 3184878881 and I'll send some pictures if you want, where do you live?

Speed is about 4.1 mph with this tm, I have a 55 lb digital max that I may put on this kayak. Believe me, I fish out of this 90% of the time!!

Oh, I see you live in Baton Rouge, if you come this way, be glad to show you, also those KC kayaks would work the same! Also, if you fish in Calcasieu Lake area, I go there often starting end of September, fish reds on topwater in the marsh, awesome and the big boats can't get in there!

Skip, are you fishing in the river itself or in an oxbow? I have fished in the oxbow at the Poland launch further south from Koline but never caught much. I noticed on Google maps another oxbow further South of the Poland launch, but have never tried it. Thanks for the info.
