Great fishing trip! Keep them boys on the water and you wont have to worry about them getting in trouble over the summers.

Made another trip to Old River with the boys this weekend. Wasn’t a great trip but we managed to put a few in the ice chest and they had a blast again. Definitely hooked even with the heat. They didn’t let me throw them back so I’m stuck with cleaning 6 fish.
We tried for bream and sacs. Caught 10-15 bream altogether on crickets. Caught a few early on the edge of the trees on the north bank in 6-8 fow. Moved down to Alligator point to try for some sacs. Only put one in the boat on the first shiner. Missed a couple more but didn’t have a lot of bites in my usual holes. Most of the bream were caught around the floating rafts 3-4 ft deep in 20-30 fow.
Planning to make a weekend trip in a couple weeks. Water should be right by then after this little rise.

Sometimes it's not about how many fish we catch, but the memories and relationships that we make while on the water having fun. Keep having fun with those boys.
The Lord is good. His mercy and love endures forever.
I beg to differ, it was a great trip. As you said “ the boys had a blast”. From my own experience they long remember who they were with and not the number they caught. You’re an inspiration to Fathers everywhere to spend time with their children.
