I was talking with my brother in law the other day about fishing toledo bend, neither of us has ever been there, so we plan to fix that. He has a brand new tracker 175, so my boat will stay here. Whats a good place to stay there that we wouldn't have to worry about some one stealing our stuff while we are there? Also any perticular areas we should try to stick to? He has a friend who goes in the spring and is going to try to get some intel for the summer for us. As always as much information always helps.

Don't forget to try under the bridge lights at night if you have a night with little or no wind.
There are lots of Crappie structure sunk by the Bridge by Crappie guides on the LA side
A friend just went and they caught fish suspended 12' - 15' deep in 25' of water - over brush piles that are hard to find. He heard some were being caught at the bridge at the same depth. You can also google Toledo Bend Artificial Reefs and get the coordinates of several placed by LDWF. If the boat has a good GPS with a Toledo map, you can look for creeks that depth. Good luck.

The Sabine River Authority campground cabins (San Miguel and Cypress Bend) are much cheaper than the state campgrounds - less than half the price. All the state campgrounds have become prohibitively expensive causing many of us not to stay there. As an added plus, the SRA campgrounds are pet friendly.

Thanks for the ideas and tips. We are going to see if my dad wants to with us. Make it a big affair for the whole weekend.
