Short striking fish

On d'arbonne missed/had em get off literally a ton of fish. What causes this, and is there anything I can change?

I'm no expert but with all this wind lately do you think you are moving to fast you could try dragging a bucket or a rope with a piece of chain to help slow you down. Hope this helps. Chip

Sometimes they want a different color. Other times pinching off some tail to make a smaller jig is the ticket. Others are catching with Orange

bream....one o them days?.....crappie when they bitin good.....are gonna be caught...they might get off at the boat and all but you see em when they bite....when ya don't see em....bream...gar....like FOL said speed..depth ..color...shiners ....jigs technique....knots.....cure for it is go out and try em again and again and again.......good luck

this time of the year bream are starting to move shallow. Some of the bites are probably from them. However white perch can be really finicky too. Usually slowing down will help a little. Some days it can be really frustrating. Remember the area where the bites happened and come back later

What wind direction was it? It seems that easterly winds really make for a light bite, and particularly short striking. Sometimes color is it, and then your in their face and don't want it there, so they will swat it with there tails, or move it with their mouths.
