Ha! Ha! That was a good one.
The truth is...I really didn't want to go fishing. North winds and muddy water didn't sound promising.
The truth is...I had other things at home I'd rather be doing. Yard work and netting my blackberry and strawberry plants to keep the mocking birds from eating more than I.
The truth is...I love my wife and since it was her choice, I went fishing and enjoyed it.
The truth is... she caught the only fish a nice 12" slab. That's the part that hurts.

That’s awesome. That would be my luck too but I don’t think my wife will ever be the one to bring up the idea of going fishing. If she does someday decide to like fishing I hope she catches more fish than me. Probably won’t happen though.

Linda and I have been fishing together for just shy of 50 years. Back when we started we fished in a beat up old tin boat, 14' X 36". At the time the two of us didn't add up to the weight that I weigh now. We were so thin we could fish in the rain and not get wet. It's been some marvelous years and over time I've tried my best to make a better fisherwoman of her. Well this year I think I'm seeing the fruits of my labor, as she has put me down quite a few times. It's humbling but I love it. I'll take it any day, just to see the smile on her beautiful face. Life is great and so is our Lord as he has allow it all to happen.
