Now THAT is an unusual LA mixed bag for sure. Trout in Ragley?
Brought dad to Bundicks yesterday. Fishing was tough. Fished deep shallow and all between. Caught on jigs and shiners. Best jig was bg threadfin shad. Oh yea stopped by a little pond to catch my first ever Louisiana rainbow trout.

Come on Dwayne. That is not how I would define "tough fishing." LOL. Congratulations to you and your dad on a fine mixed bag of fish.
The Lord is good. His mercy and love endures forever.Skippa Chippa thanked you for this post
Dwayne good to see you and Dad still at it. That rainbow trout story needs some clarification. Those fish don't belong here.

A "tough day" is when you come home empty handed my friend! That right there looks like a full meal or two!
Yep...interesting to see a trout from LA. Must be someone stocking the pond, but I thought they were just cold water fish....guess it goes to show I don't know much about them besides they eat well.
Congrats on the catchin guys!
Looks like a box of candy there Shadow.

Sneaking under the barbed wire fence, fishing in a blackberry thicket reminds me of rolling Watermellons out of the patch while the Farmer is on the Porch cause he knows you coming back.
Shadow keep us guessing . The other day I stopped by Rouse's supermarket to pick up a loaf of Lidenhimers French Bread and saw some fish that looked like that. Ya'll did good. Lets see how far this goes.
They stocked rainbow trout in our community pond in Minden,La about 1 or 2 years ago. They had a big get out and fish event. I think 3 trout were caught that day out of the 2500 or so they put in. I happen to live on that pond, rarely fishing it. An old buddy was walking by the house about a month ago, and we shot the bull for a while. He had been tearing them up on beetle spins and rooster tails in the evening all through January. Catching them up to the 2 to 3 lb range. He had a few with him that evening to.
They (LAWLF) stocked several ponds throughout the state for that event.
