Launched out of Fred’s in South Vacherie this morning around 7:35 and headed towards the undeveloped canals just to the north of the launch but got there to find several boats. These are not big canals so I headed in the canals with camps. Had 9 at 12:53 when my father called. All fish caught in the canal were between 9-10 inches, caught under a cork in 18-24” of water and over half were caught at the end of boat ramps.
Lake was calm on this side so headed to the point just east. It took about 45 minutes to find them but managed to have a steady productive afternoon. Ended the day with 24 keepers and 3 very nice bream.
Most of the fish were between 10-11 and my biggest wasn’t measured but I doubt it is twelve. These fish were caught casting a jig head at two different laydowns. Caught a few smaller fish under a cork but the keepers were glued to the lay down and close to the bottom in 3 feet of water.
Ill send more pictures of fish and lures when I get a chance to clean them after work tomorrow.
