Default 11/17 Guess where? Yep, Bonne idee

Hit the water at daylight. First one there which i usually am. Can't over sleep and miss that early bite....

Kept 17 today on variety of colors. They're taste changed as the day wore on and clouds burned off.

Single pole on sunken tops and big cypress. Swam the three tail for a while but had to abandon that cause da fish weren't impressed.

Even caught a few on my new Salters pole. I like it but still prefer my 12 ft BBUL. I do think the lite weight and design will make it an excellent starter pole for the kids to learn jig fishing on.

P.S about 10 am someone turned the wind machine on full blast, cypress needles and leaves coming down like rain.

Nice catch Jimmy. I need to try the Bonne Dee some day; been several years since I've been there.

    Nice looking freesh Twenty.

    What's a 12 ft BBUL?

JB designed Da Salters pole to be able to underhand cast a jig up to 30'. Just a foot or two off the water.

You won't find another jig pole with the first eye as close to the reel. The reason for that is to be able strip the line kinda like a fly rod.

The reel needs to be touched up. Put some pipe thread tape on the threads so the reel will free spin. Cut the little knob off too.

I'm not sure about his new pole but the old ones with the tape on reels had a pice of lead in the handle for balance.

Thanks for the tips JR. I've watched some YouTube videos of Mr Salter and it's deff a different style than I'm accustomed too. I won't use this pole all the time but I'll have it with me at all times.

A BBUL is a bucks best ultralite jig pole. I use it most of the time, if I'm doing some heavy jigging I use my ozark jig pole

It is deferent. It would be hard for me to change at this point.

I told JB one time I didn't need his pole as I could catch with broom stick. I thought he was gonna hit me.

I like it best for shooting docks.
