    Default Commorants

The Migratory Menace have not Arrived in North Louisiana ---- with them keeping the Shad Schools Busted and Injured shad, turning on the Feed Bag . With the Weather being a bouncing Ball the birds will soon get here and the Winter Bite will began when the Birds push all the Shad into the Channel

They're here on lake verret by the hundreds. I have a corner of the lake close to my camp where hundreds roost and/or just hang out during the day among the eagles in the flooded cypress that line the lake.
When I need a quick mess of these "sweet cats" I just ease up to these cypress trees and chunk a nightcrawler at the base of these trees and hang on. Caution: Don't look up. Lol. Not really. They are very wary birds. They just fly to a nearby tree and bait that hole. SLIP

There are A couple of thousand on Cross Lake, I was crossing on 220 bridge and had to dodge them flying over. They eat 1 pound of fish each daily,I don’t like them.

Don't you just love them, they are about to put the catfish farmers out of business. BEWARE- Commorants are government protected.

I've caught about 10 crappie with gashes on them lately that had been attacked but the crawfish crop is nothing to be messing with. If they start messing up my springtime weekend boils me and the Gubberment might get sideways over the protection of those feathered criminals. Nothing should come between a man and his boiled bugs and cold beer. Commorants
