Default Bowfishers threatened on Caney. Posted on Caney Lake Community Facebook Page.

Not to sure who the guy is on the north point before you get to smith branch is but he needs to realize that you don't pull a shotgun gun on people at 10:00pm ish. Just because you are fishing off your dock. I went way around your dock. You don't own the water! I can bowfish where I want! I have been all over that lake doing what I love! Never had one issue until you showed your butt! Guess what it's against the law to threaten people with a gun for no reason. My wife and my cousins wife was in the boat with me. I am staying at the state park. Camp site 53. If you see this come by and talk to me like an adult. I got a cold Dr.Pepper for you. Never know you might like bowfishing to if you want to give it a try ! I will be glad to take you sometime. I have an extra bow for you. Rant over.

I hope you find out who the guy is and sort things out peacefully but I sure hope it isn't one of our members that would do something like that

This is not the first incident with this guy. The Wardens know who he is.

I fish 7 days a week; some days for fish, everyday for men.

That my friend is a call to the sheriff, not a post on a message board. Some years back I had a similar run in. The guy came to my truck and threatened me again after we packed up and were at launch. A year later he made the news in a pretty bad way. I wish I had gone to the sheriff, I made him back down and turn tail, the next person was not as lucky.

Don't think the story poster is the source, maybe the reporter?
Regardless, I feel there is a time and place to handle every situation. And after reading the report and comments, I believe...don't think, this fella maaaaaaybee be unstable.
In which case, I'd make a call to the local s'pose ta make it betters..
But doubt it'll make it betters
The right fella will probably make it better sooner or later and he'll prob end up in a cage the other fella needed in the first place.....

    Don't spank your kids....

first of all, you needed to call the local authorities in law enforcement and you needed to call the local game and fish authorities. posting here is worthless in this situation.

Little clarification. This didn't happen to me. Saw it on FB and thought as many people as possible should be aware of this situation as possible. I have camp on Caney and fish it every weekend. See carp boats all the time and I think they do a good service for the lake. Any altercation that involves a threat should be reported to authorities.

have had a few runins' with dock owners who think they can intimidate you but I just smile and keep on fishing while informing them they don't own the water at all and with cell phones start taping the conversation and say I will stop by the local leo's and file a complaint and press charges. Works Great! has shut up every loud mouthed ******* I have ever run into as I tell them you are going to go Viral! LOL
