    Default Lake Martin help

    Hey gang:
My son keeps bugging me to fish Lake Martin. Never been and don't have a clue how to fish it. I'm just getting my feet wet (pun intended) at Henderson but have a long way to go yet.
Can anybody give me any pointers about this lake? Price to launch, average depth, tips or tricks, etc????
    Thanks in advance.

    Paul,
I've only been there a few times and it's really not a very good place to fish for sac-a-lair; it's beautiful, but small and shallow. I know u like to take pictures, so it would be good for that. Maybe during the spawn you could catch some in the cypress trees...? One of the times I went the only way people were catching was to fishing around some duck blinds in the middle of the lake; got there and couldn't believe how many boats were out there! The duck blinds were completely full of boats..., couldn't fit another one.
Not sure about bass or bream but for sac-a- lait, my tip would be to not go there if you can go to Henderson or jack millers or the spillway!
Let us know what u do!
    Good luck!

Looks like if I go it'll be for pictures only. I've seen some nice shots from there. Thanks for the info guys.

I live 1 mile from it and I don't fish it because it's overfished. They have some nice bass and you can catch some white perch, but better off going to the basin. It's free to launch and it is very beautiful. Wish it didn't have the pressure cause I would be in the water everyday. Ever since that small business was opened on the lake, it has gone downhill.

Sadly, for fishing, it is dead.

That lake has my number. A few good trips with some really nice size fish, but the grass can make it crazy hard. Tour boats every few minutes. If you want to see some very large gators that's the place. Duck hunters own the morning in the season. I've given it up. To many other places with better odds for me.

Thanks Hooknsinker thanked you for this post

Never been there, but sounds like a good bream lake, being shallow.
