Here's hoping a good night's rest gets Gene's back feeling better.
PawPaw isn't feeling too good, he's having an unknown issue with his back or something so I'll have to post our report. Wednesday we went in a new direction to a place we haven't been to in years. We scratched, 0, nothing. We then took a nice long boat ride to another place neither of us had been to before. It a place that Gene saw on Gooogle map. Well after a 20 minute boat ride we arrived and the place looked good. The water was only slightly stained and just right for fishing. After 1/2 hour and no bites we left and went home.
Today we tried again and went to our old favorite, Orange Grove. We fished for a couple of hours an in a few different canals and couldn't buy a bite. Then we decided to try one more place before calling it quits. After hitting all the good areas in that canal Gene put on a beetle spin. A few cast later he pulled in a sacalait, not big but a sacalait. So I grabbed my spinning reel and joined him. It was slow going but between the two of us we ended up with Gene's sacalait, 3 chickapins and one bass. Like I put in the title, just right. We caught supper. To that we added some french fries and some fried crawfish. Yum, very good.
We did notice that some of the canals we were fishing in smelled of dead water even though it didn't look like it. One canal had lots of small bubbles coming to the surface so maybe the water was getting bad. All in all it was a nice trip, not too long and not too many fish. Just right.
We hoping to see some of y'all at Pat's tomorrow, praying Gene feel as good as he did this morning.

Thanks George, I feel a little better this morning but it's something I have to go to the Dr. Monday and have checked out. It's not any of my old back pains but something new and puzzling.
