Headed to Bruin this morning, and...
Going to see if the Carp have done their thing yet, and if the Crappie are back where I need them to be... Then, hitting Poverty Point for the weekend. I catch Blacks in Bruin, and hope to get a few Whites in PP...

Well, the trip was very disappointing, until I decided that a boat load of Channel cats was better than going home with nothing.Bruin was a total bust on FRIDAY, and I only caught two on Saturday. Then, the whole bucket of shiners died, like we had poisoned them. But, it turns out that Channel Cats like dead minnows very well...

I had a friend drive over from TX to fish, and I wanted him to take some fish home. I think the blacks in Bruin had already done their thing, and he really wanted to catch something nice in PP. Friday afternoon, three people told us they were in the shallows and biting late in the day. But, Saturday it wasn't to be! After fishing all day, and only catching two, we decided not to try on Sunday. Got up, cleaned cats and headed home... Had fun, just not what we were expecting!
