Oh no,......the spider rig disease is spreading......somebody get him a casting rod and some roadrunners!......
just kidding, thx for pics.....It's a miracle that driver survived
These pics are from several trips there recently.....the most recent was 3/28 & got 7 sacs (13 1/2" biggun) 5 stripers & 1 small bass.........also went 3/26 and had 13 including one bass....don't remember the other date....one morning it was foggy, cool and great to be out....and yes, that is Prefers Shiners trying to spider rig....I had 2 shiners on each pole and had 2 stripers to hit 2 poles at the same time...thats 4 stripers caught at the same time....took me 20 minutes to fix all my lines...I replaced all my boat seats. you can see one in 2 of the pics...going back Saturday but will be single poling with my grandson and his fiance...
On 3/28 between 2:30 and 4:30 PM (I left at 2:30) an 18 wheeler tanker crashed and fell off the interstate and landed on the road leading to the boat launch at the rest area....driver is OK with some injuries.....you can see the small levee near the cattle gap (not in picture)....the picture is taken looking East with the launch behind you.....I took these pics of the news on TV....

Wow, glad to hear that driver survived, that wreck looked terrible!!
Like you I've been trying new techniques from listening to and asking questions to others members here on crappie.com and I've been having a blast! I have such a limited chance to get to go fishing that I want to give myself the best chance possible to have successfull trips. By learning new ways to fish on this forum it has helped me tremendously, and it's been so much fun!! By looking at the pics everybody posts and their tips on how they catch them helps me get through a long week of work and an extra bit of excitement to get out to the lake and try something new! It's been fun to watch you share your experiences casting roadrunners and spider rigging, thanks for sharing them with us!! No matter what you do to catch crappie we will still all know that you "prefer shiners" over all else!
Man Bruce, that is crazy with that 18 wheeler! Glad he survived, crash looks horrible. That is some nice fish you got there and yes those stripers can tangle up your lines in a hurry!!!

having more baits in the water increases your chance of success....different species and it gets crazy exciting when you get into a school of fish....you will get good at either untangling and/or retying.........like the pics...
