Default To Larto on Fri 3-17

Has anyone been down the 6 miles of heck to the southwest end of Larto? Wondering if it is being graded keeping it travelable (is this a word?)? Going on Friday till Monday pm. Staying at Buds #2. Any info would be great. Thanks, SLIP

Coming from Gonzales, I would go up thru Marksville over the Red River bridge and hook a right to hwy 1196 to Vick and continue down that winding road then left to hwy 3102 into Larto. SLIP

My camp is on Muddy Bayou on the Saline side, so I'll be launching by the camp. I'll be in a gray Triton with my wife and 4 year old boy. Prob won't make the run to larto though. Prob fish the saline side.

The diversion Canal route from where you are coming from will take you about 15 to 20 minutes longer, but a way better drive. Not having to go down that curvy road through Vick is nice and the diversion is kept up well, specially this time of year. I'm from Marskville originally and hunted and fished there my whole life. In my opinion, I would rather drive the extra distance, but that's just an opinion.

Like I was always taught, try everything once! If you don't like it, don't do it again. Let me know what you think and good luck fishing. May see you out there.

I've launched at both places.....my phone shows me saving 20 minutes by launching at Phil's.
