That's great PS. Don't be so hard on your self.
I've been wondering what I'm gonna do with "D" moving to TN closing his shrimp peeling and fish cleaning place in back Brusly.
Does PJ pickup and deliver?
for not checking out fillet knives.....I have been using one of the cheaper knives from Academy for years....cost $20-$25....I won't mention the name....buy extra blades all the time.....
Well, at San Miguel this year while at the fish cleaning station watching my grandson clean our fish, I heard Danny (fishfried) and Mitch Glen cleaning fish beside us..I say heard because I was not watching but just listening to how smooth and the speed their knife was going...zip....zip....zip...and ours was groaning .......just had to ask and they were using a Rapala......first order of business back in Baton Rouge was a trip to Academy....several models to choose from and I picked one for $50....I have never been so impressed and excited that cleaning fish just got 1000% easier.....for Nick that is, he wants to clean all our fish....we going tomorrow...
So, Danny & Mitch, thanks guys for teaching this senior something new....

JR mail em to me. I just wish I could go fishing. Finally got license, waiting on boat numbers. Truck in the shop, no way to pull, Passed by Pickwick today on the way back from BR( The aunt whose pic I put on here a couple times when cooking for them passed on).40 degrees and people were fishing. About 25 trailers at the one landing I checked. Been hearing good reports. Also son in law caught a nice 7 lb bass at TB wed. It had already spawned. (BELLY WAS SKINNY, DID NOT CUT IT OPEN, RELEASED IT.)

I bought my Rapala knife around 15 years ago. I think I'm finally due for a set of replacement blades. It doesn't run quite as strong as it used to, but still makes easy work of a mess. I'll replace it with another just like it the day it quits.

My experience has been just the opposite. Several years ago my wife gave me a Rapala electric knife that I hate. It struggles to filet a crappie. I guess it's either a dud or just a bad model. It's the one that can be powered by 12v DC or 110v AC depending on the power cord used.
I don't fish for crappie very often and I keep very few bass so I've gotten by with a cheap Academy store brand knife which works better than the weak Rapala I have. It looks like prefers shiners has the Rapala Heavy-Duty Electric Filet Knife. I may have to get one once I figure out how to catch them crappies.

That'd be the ProGuide Deluxe. I have one of those too and it's weak compared to my Heavy Duty model. I bought it for camping trips where there's no power. It works, but bogs down easily. The HD has an AC plug only. Makes the Deluxe model seem like a butter knife.

I won one of those AC/DC models and it is very weak. When plugged in to AC it runs through the DC adapter so it only has the power of the weaker DC voltage. Not a good by in my opinion.
