I have been on SR in April when it got rough. Not pretty! We were on a party barge, and it was a tough ride back to the launch...
Wonder what caused the damage shown in the first image. I'm thinking they drug in on land upside down to get it out.
40mph winds & 6 ft swells is no place to be.

The tournament director should have shut it down with that kind of weather approaching. No way would I have been out there with 40 mph winds forecasted.

Scary for sure on big lakes. A few years back on Toledo Bend I was fishing in the back of a small cove and on to them big time. I noticed the wind was picking up, but wanted to continue, in which I did for a while. Was watching the tree tops on the calm water back in the cove. Wind picked up some more, so I decided to head back to the landing. Once on the main lake, the wind was serious out there in the open water. Swells so huge I couldn't see the horizon unless I was on the crest of a swell. Reminded me of the Gulf. Scared me silly - believe me folks, nothing scares me, but that did. Steering this way and that to negotiate the swells. Finally made it back. I have learned to respect that big body of water.
