Here is the only picture i have. I ended the day friday with 41. And saterday with 42. But i felt like i.caught 100 each day due to all the small fish, that had to be toss back in. It was a very nice time on the water. And the food was awesome if you did not make it this year please come next year because all these little fish are eating alot of shiners and getting bigger every day. Agian thank you to everyone who made this event what it is today great work

Sounds like it was alot of fun. Would have liked to have been there fishing, but was on call for work. Heading there this weekend to the camp with the wife and little man. Were the fish starting to move into the shallows or are they still deep?

Going there in March with two sure fire pro's. Looks like the influx of high water of last spring is paying off this year. With the high water, the fish had a big time spawning in all that button brush last spring which will be a big plus going forward. If we don't get a rise like last year, it could be a heck of a spring. SLIP

Just posted about the gathering. Tried to do it last night but my computer acted up. Go to the 2017 Larto Gathering post.

I used shiners and jigs on friday and just jigs on saturday. I caught a little better on friday with shiners and by a little, I am talking one or two more fish than with jigs.

I went Friday but didn't go to the gathering. I fished with my Dad around Youngbloods. At one point during the morning we counted 20 boats. We caught our fish with shiners fishing 16-17 feet deep. We finished the day with 31 plus 2 catfish. We did see an Osprey. He made two passes at a small crappie that was floating on top of the water. I was too busy catching fish to stop and video him with my phone. Awesome looking bird and the first one that I have seen in the wild.
Only need three more years before I can think like a fish.
