I ask as someone that has never fished the river here.

MATTHEW 7:13-14
I have been a member for several years and have seen very few posts on the Red River. And most of the ones I have seen are from the Shreveport area if I remember right. By the way, welcome to the forum. I look forward to your posts.
The Lord is good. His mercy and love endures forever.
I have fished it some and done well at times. From my experience it is very dependent on river level and water clarity. I have not fished on the river the last two years with the exceptionally high water levels and flooding I have notice that a lot of places silted in during the three periods above flood stage. I plan to go look and maybe try a few spots this year

I do in the spring and summer for the last 30 years. It's a good spot if you put in the time and learn it.
Catch and Release: Catch the slabs and Release the little'uns
I fished the oxbows from Bossier City to Coushatta since the lock and dams became operable 20+ years ago. Spring and Summer has always been good, with the exception of the last couple years, when I was unable it to fish due to flooding. I made a scout trip this last fall to my pre flood spots, and they have all changed - All not accessible due to silting in or debris jams. After so many enjoyable and productive years of fishing on the River, it looks like its over for my spots. But, the Dams and Jetties are doing what they were designed to do - the good fishing was Lagniappe!!! I've started fishing Lake Fork since the floods.......drive is longer, but fishing is way better!!
I'd like to know as well as someone in the Bossier area that has never put the boat in the river.
