Thread: Red river report

What area of the river are you interested in? I haven't crappie fished on the red in many years, but now that I have my own boat, I've been itching to try out the entrance to White House and some old faithful tops back in WH, in the S Bossier/Elm Grove area. In the winter, we used to tear them up just inside the rock jetti. Seems there were always several big schools on any given day. There was also Caspiana just a hair further south on the Shreveport side. Always had good luck in there on both banks. They both drop off steep in many places.

I live close to the Colfax Dam but fish a lot up north leaving out of Saint Maurice most of the time. Last year we did well even with the river up as it was . I am working at the moment but will give them a shot when I get home after the first week of Jan.

Wish I could help. I don't fish the river, but know a few people who do. If the fish are biting in the river out of St. Maurice no one is posting about it. Very seldom see any post about the Red River down this way. Maybe you can change that when you get home. Good luck.
