    Default Any Cross Lake action?

I've been thinking of trying Cross Lake out, but haven't been on that lake in ages. Only bass fished it a few times years ago. I'm really not familiar with that lake at all. Where's the deep water the crappie are ganging up in? I've heard people say they've been seeing lots of boats hanging out around the bridge as they drove over, so assumed that'd be a place to start. Anyone fish it often and have any areas that pay off this time of year?
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, unless you fish for a living.

Cross is different from most lakes
The colder it gets the shallower the crappie go
The pocket behind Nantucket harbor can be good . Poles 28 and 30 are about the deepest water you will find around the bridge
The Willow point boat house can be really good this time of year. Paw paw bayou should be starting to heat up on the west end follow it back thru the woods til you can't go any further and you should be in the zone also Fleming park north of the bridge
I checked black today kept 27 all good ones

Cross is full of HUGE crappie It's a love hate relationship with that lake for me . Sometimes you can load the boat and other times it's the dead sea
It should be picking up now thru the spawn

I'm with you on the love hate thing. I've killed them in Pawpaw's and went back a few days later and couldn't buy a fish. We came up on a guy one day who said they caught 90 the day before and only had a few that day. We discovered a spot a few years back between the entry to pawpaw's and going toward Johnsons at a four way intersection with a duck blind on the north west corner, we caught 20 to 30 nice ones a day casting a jig 18" under a weighted cork, dragging it slowly back to the boat from the treeline. Last year we couldn't get a bight there. Blue thunder jig with unpainted head.

Cross Lake is my home Lake and right now, we are catching them under the boat houses on the South side by Barrens Landing. Pa pa has a lot of moss plus the lake was about 2 feet low before the rain. Also we are catching them by boat houses near 220 bridge. Twin bridges and Flemmings was hitting good before the rain but now that part looks like coffee with cream in it. The crappie are late moving into the trees. Black and green, blue ice, Cajun cricket, and black and white in Bobby Garland is what colors that produce.
