thx rick!!!!
To those of you who have never been when the lake is drawn down, a word of caution. If you use the ramp at Jake's at the foot of the bridge be careful. If you are standing on the ramp and looking to the immediate right there is a line of rocks just under the surface. Make sure you back the boat straight out or a little to the bridge side of the ramp. There is about a 4 ft. strip of sand beach at the end of the pier. The ramp across the channel from Jake's is usable and I think the ramp on highway 2 is also. Avoid the Stowe Creek ramp. Huge drop off at end of ramp. That being said I will see you all there. Back at work till next Thursday. Bonnie and I made a trip up there Sunday to see what they were doing. First trip in long time as have been working at the house my son bought. Perfect house until he signed the papers and his mom and I have painted and redone almost everything in it as he only has about 4 days off in a row about one a month. Sunday we found mostly small fish. Fished along the edge of the channel in about 18 ft. of water fishing around 12 feet deep. Lost a bunch on hookups but we had a ton of fish only bumping the jig. Just wouldn't take it. I only took a picture with my phone so haven't been able to upload it. Gave the fish to a neighbor who love the whole fryers. It was pretty warm on up in the morning. Hopefully cooler come next weekend.

I went and checked the ramps at Hwy 2 Monday. The ramp behind the store is unusable. It also appeared the ramp on the ramp road is to shallow, I was reluctant to try it as there was no other trucks or sign that it had been used in a while. Parking at Jakes will be a challenge on Gathering weekend also. There is a local crappie tournament this weekend on Darbonne, those guys suggested if you have a partner to dock at Jakes and have your partner drive around to Hwy 33 ramp road to park. The other in the boat could motor across and pick up the other. They were saying there is a drop off on the Hwy 33 ramp road dock as well. I have seen some smaller boats use that ramp though.

I have put in at the hwy 2 bridge the last 2 weekends without a problem. It is steep down at the water but it is fine. I was putting in on the ramp road side. I haven't seen anyone putting in behind the store. Be careful south of bridge. The channel markers about 200 yds south of bridge go out of creek channel and it is shallow and stumpy!

Is Hogpen launch still usable?

People were using Jake's, the Hwy 2 and Hog Pen launch yesterday (Friday).
