Default Another Round with catfish on the Bone

The Cats were a little smaller than when we took Angie --- strangely enough we brought home 22 Cats and 1 Bream, The same number as last time but we culled close to 15 small ones... how do you catch them when the Bream hook is longer than the cat . . . with some lost Blood is the answer ----- it is not the same, but sink pictures is all you get. The wife's phone/ camera hates me. wouldn't work for me so she took them for you (and inserted them in this post, too! )

Those are the perfect size. I can hear my daddy. "We gonna fry em dry boy."

This Big Bowl was overflowing the last time we went ----- there was a big change in the water in the channel today.... with all the cooler weather the Thermocline is no longer in the channel. the shad are missing compared to cold weather, but it is loaded with fish looking like Crappie

The deep frier will be working overtime with hushpuppies, French Fries, cat Filets. I guess some coleslaw might be good too. Deacon, your daddy was a good man letting you have those memories to share with us

That is a fine mess of cats for sure. That was one of my daddy's favorite ways to eat fish, whole. And I bet he ate an eighteen wheeler load of them in his lifetime. He is probably why I love to eat those whole fryers myself. Good eating!! Congratulations on the catching.

Like I mentioned on another thread, we found out the Thermocline is gone with all the rain and cooler weather with overcast for weeks on end. The channel is full from top to bottom with fish and small shad balls, lots of fish following the shad, Minnows feeding on the Blind Mosquetos on the surface and Crappie feeding on the skeeters. only Two boats on the lake all day and they were fishing for cats also. So with nobody fishing for Crappie, who is going to know if they turn on?????
