    Default Toledo Bend Crappie

My son and grandsons tried Toledo Bend yesterday and wound up with 10 good size crappie before my motor broke down and my son had to pull us back to the ramp......such is life......such is fishing....We may have done a great deal better had we not cut the trip short. Fished from daylight to about 9:00.

Looks like a good trip to me! Hope nothing seriously wrong with your motor.

Thanks, Fuel problem that has been ongoing. Rig only 2yrs old. But that's all right because anytime spent with my son and grandsons is time well spent, especially wetting a hook..........Life is good .

What part of the lake you were fishing and how deep? I might be going next weekend.

Was fishing out of Wrights landing north of the bridge (Louisiana side). Did good on the grey/chartreuse black lake jig. Water depth about 18' and fished from 5 to 15' seems like.

We fished over planted structure in about 3 different places. One site was in open water and you'd really have to know where it was or find it with the sonar. The other structure was planted around various visible stumps. If ya go, good luck. My son caught a good sized one just before he had to tow me back to the ramp. Boat in shop so I'm afoot now. Son says I can use his boat, but not until he goes back to work. Don't want to hold him up none. LOL.

Looks like the weather might not be favorable for a trip. We'll have to wait and see.
