Saute, u turned me on to Lacassine Bayou and how to catchem during the spawn. Enjoyed the heck out of it.... I'm trying to lean more towards those white perch but have struggled the last 3 outings at those two spots....Any help would be greatly appreciated. I never fished the Burns, but did fish Lacassine years ago. We would fish them with jigs about a foot or so below a cork, casting as far as we could and working the jig back towards you following the edges of the boat runs, or around structure if you could find any. It was hard to jig them on the side of the boat because the water was too clear and they would leave when they seen the boat. We fished some of Miami corp, the east end and there, we were able to jig on the side of the boat along the grass lines.

The only trip that I have made to the burns that I have caught sac au lait was on good friday and I was following my cousin out there. I won't tell you where I went as it was his place and he was doing me a favor by letting me follow him but I will tell you how we were fishing. We were fishing tube jigs tipped with a piece of cold worm and throwing them up next to the grass line. We were fishing about 12 to 16" deep under a cork. The sacs only seemed to want to bite in the morning though, up to about 11 AM. I did notice that they didn't want the bigger jigs that I use at Bundicks, I had to go to the smaller jigs and the tri color seemed to work the best for me. My best color was orange top, blue body and chrt. tail. I will tell you that we were fishing in clear water. Hope this helps.

Thanks shadow and jlaughlin....appreciate the info. I went yesterday and decided to leave all bass fishing equipment at the house and try and figure them out. I fished about 1 ft under a cork with blue/white tube jig tipped with crappie bites /chartreuse. As u mentioned the sacalait bit well Inow the morn. Caught 9 keeps. The goggle eye bit all day. Was fun. Thanks again

Jlaughlin, are u talking bout trolling along the hydroblasting line just hopping the jig? I mainly fish the east side in the dirtier water. Thanks for the help......

We usually fished the east side also, further down the boat lanes where the traffic isn't too bad. We would just troll along and cast at the grass lines and if we found an opening in the grass or a bush or limb, we would try it too. We fished both sides of the road but usually done better on the east side of it.
