I don't know if there is any truth to this but a friend of mine (lives on Caney) said a couple years ago the weather was all screwed up during the spawn and lots of fish adsorbed their eggs instead of laying them. For a year he would catch Crappie that were yellow tinted and you couldn't eat them because of the taste and smell.
New to me Mermentau.Pretty colors.Seems like the only one caught.Nice looking catch for the day.Have you been to the Mermentau lately?
Cool fish
Been a few weeks since I went.Last time fished around 4 hrs and not a bite.Went south towards Lake Arthur and north towards pontoon bridge in Estherwood.Had heard a few fish were being caught so made trip.Guess I will wait awhile before going till I get "confirmed"reports not just "hearsay".LOL.Good to hear from you and hope to see you and the guys soon on the water "suckingemup".![]()
