John, I think pawpaw gene has an old paint roller on an extandable rod that he uses, similar to what Bruce is talking about.

I also have one of those that I use to clear out an opening in the floating hydrilla and then fish in the opening....you can also put a Styrofoam donut in the cleared out hole to keep it from closing back up.......but it just dawned on me to rig that pole to use as a lure retriever also....I should have been an engineer.....

I have a extendable tree pruning saw with a broken head that I have been eyeing. Going to check it out now.

Sorry mermentau just realized you asked about retreiver report. It was in reviews from users on bass pro or cabela's where they had around 59? reviews there. Also noticed while there that bass pro might buy out cabela's? I know it would take a long time to pay for it retrieving jigs, but not for cranks? ~~ <*{{{{<<

Here's what I've got for now. Used only junk from around the house. The carabiner rig is something I've used many times in the kayak so I know it will work, but I would like to bend some stainless rod and make it better.Name: un-snag.jpg
