Default Toledo Bend gathering the last weekend of February

February 27 and 28 at SRA San Miguel park. Went ahead and started this thread so folks can plan ahead. SRA website is here:

Sabine River Authority, State of Louisiana\nToledo Bend Camping, Fishing Info

Click on park in the menu and then San Miguel for information. Everyone is welcome to this event! We have the enclosed pavilion/lodge again for Friday and Saturday. Plenty of parking and plenty of room with lots of tables and chairs. Full kitchen, bathroom, etc. It has always worked nicely for us. Potluck again on Friday evening and the fry on Saturday evening. I'll start a food/supply list after holidays. There is a protected boat shed on the water for those that like to keep their boat in the water while there.

We'll do our raffle again for a good cause on Saturday evening - The Sabine Council on Aging. Danny and I decided not to solicit for door prizes. All donated items will go to the raffle if that's okay for you fellas. If one of our special guests has door prizes, that's fine too.

I know there's 5- 6 folks who have already reserved their spots at the campground. Ann and I are in Cabin 15 again (got it right this time Bruce ) It's also Bruce's birthday!

Lots of fun and excellent fellowship. Please join us!

Is this park close to the Famous Chicken Coop area? I have never fished it but I have heard that it is a great spot on Toledo bend

It's directly across the lake on the Texas side. If the water isn't too rough, many us boat across. Otherwise, others have stayed in the campground and drive across since close to the Pendleton bridge.

I'm in the same cabin as last year but I don't remember the #. Reserved it last year at the end of the gathering.

I remember seeing a link to a park last year and I called and they had a monthly off season camping rate of 160 a month we came very close to going over and spending the month but family business stopped us. This year we are thinking seriously about doing it again, but I cant find the link to the low rent campground anyone remember or have a clue???
