When you would go into his shop he would perform what he called "Salters magic show". He would show you all the tricks with his jig poles. He was something. R.I.P.

He will be missed, what a character. My wife and I went one time, he was showing her how to use his pole. He told her that her thumb nail was to long, she said she would cut it later. He whipped out some nail clippers and told to do it now. I got a good laugh out of that one.

RIP Mr. Salter! I didn't personally know you, but I know enough about you to know that your legacy will carry on for many years. Thanks for passing on your love of fishing to so many people.

My wife and kids and I were on our way to north la for a bball tourn and stopped in at the McDonald's there by his shop . As we were waiting in line in the drive through I saw his shop there and decided to jump out and go see what kind of jigs he had in there .

45 minutes later after learning how to flip the jig in the bucket and wife sitting on the horn , I got to meet mr JB . I did get the 3 lil slip corks I've never opened and pack of rubber things you put on your jig to keep from getting hung up .

A character he was ! wish I would have had more time to talk with him .
