Its tough way up north here too...post spawn plus that weather that moved thru Friday gave em a bad case of lockjaw.
First I must say I had the pleasure of meeting the great Sac fisherman Southern Slabs at the landing. We had a nice chat and off we both went. Try as we might them fish just didn't want to bite much. We finally found some nice gills, 1 bass, and a nice 13 inch sac. Linda hooked a much larger one but tried to lift it into the boat. It torn off and was she sorry. She just gets so excited that she cannot wait for me to lip a fish or net it. I think that after today mishap she might just remember next time. I hope so. That fish looked to be around 15 inches. I told her that when a big fish hits the first words out of her mouth isn't suppose to OH, OU, AW. It's suppose to be "get the net". We had a great time just the same. I hope SS had more luck than us.

The only consolation is that it seems to be tough all over. I know conditions are bad and still go thus I have a 3 trip scratch streak going now. I probably need to freeze a fish whole next time I catch one and put him in the freezer so I'll have one to look at when I forget how they look.
Well, at least ya'll found some gills to salvage the trip with. I hate that Mrs. Linda lost the "fish of the day." They say we learn from our mistakes. I hope she is a faster learner than I am. LOL. Congratulations Mr. Gene.
