Don, give me a call sometime and we can make a trip out there. I know most of those areas you are talking about but not all of them. I was fishing in the front marsh. I went in the back the other day and there was a lot of giant sylvania clogging up several of the canals.

Pastor, coppernose is what I was leaning towards also. Just have never caught them in this marsh before but after Rita anything is possible. I caught him on the same spinner bait that I was catching the bass on and that is why I had thought goggle eye at first, then I looked closer at him when I went to clean him. Thanks for the reply.

It's a chinquapin. There's a bit of variation in the species, and not all individuals have the red fringe on the "ear". This really isn't as hard if you start at what's available and then figure out what it's not. I
Hey I would love too. I am on break in May and can any day then. I have a friend that has a camp at the end of Lil Chaniere Rd. I might be able to get access to launch in the back to avoid the long run. I here most the places I use to fish are either grown over or choked with sylvania.

The first one in question is a goggleeye/bluegill. Mix. From time to time you get a little mix breeding and that fish is a great example. Shape and mouth of a bluegill with coloration and scaling of a goggleeye
