Default Mr. Crappie Twist On/Off Bobber Problems

Been looking for these for nearly a year after PPG mentioned them back in April 2014.Name: IMG_0410.jpg

Finally found them a couple of weeks ago at WalMart and I've had bad luck.

The problem is that if you do anything to jiggle them they separate and the interior part sinks. I bought two packs and the first pack is gone. One fell apart because it got jostled coming out of the rod tip protector on the boat. The other fell apart as I wiggled it trying to get it off a cypress knee. If somebody can't show me what I'm doing wrong I'll be done with them. I've always been happy with Mr. Crappie stuff so I'm thinking there is something I'm missing here.

Pull the orange insert out and put a bend in it then re-insert and it won't come out so easily

That sounds easy enough. I still have 2 left so I can try that.

I bought a pack and never used them. Sitting at my desk they just didn't work, they were too lose and wouldn't stay together. I even tried pinching the clear sleeve to tighten it but that didn't work. I just tried your trick of bending the orange stick and it seems like it might work. I'll give it a try next time out. I love the idea of a slip on float that doesn't require cutting off the jig to get it on. The idea is great but it just needs some tweaking.
