Default ROD WRAPS from door prizes at darbonne

hey guys. i hope everyone is doing good. i been crazy busy at work. we are running a skeleton crew. anyway-------

i talked to the owner of the rod wrap company and he asked me if i had gotten any feedback on the rod wraps. so yall do me a favor. if you got one at darbonne reply on here and give your HONEST feedback. he doesn't want anything sugar coated. here is my review:

i love them. i love the fact that they come in different colors. it makes it easier to quickly grab the right rod. they feel of them is soft to the touch and not tacky. they make the rod slightly bigger in diameter so it does not seem to tire my grip as quickly. i have about every color he makes and i did find that the camo ones look the coolest, BUT they seem to be a little more slick than the other colors. this might be a problem if hands are wet and cold. i did not drop mine in the lake so i can't comment on whether or not they help the rod float, but i have heard that they will float the rod just long enough to grab it. but again, i can't speak on this.

thanks in advance for your input.

Hi Doc, sorry to hear that you're crazy busy but glad to hear the you're working.

I haven't been doing much of anything lately as I have been in the process of having cataracts removed. It's been almost 3 months but I finally got both of the replaced. I still have to wait around 4 more weeks for them to test my eyes to see what glasses I might need.

You mentioned rod wraps. I purchased Linda and I each a new spinning rod and new reel. The rods have Tennessee handles on them which I love and would be the ideal rods to put them on. One problem, I've search all week for the wraps and I cannot find them. I know they are here but I haven't put my hands on them yet. Still looking, and will report as soon as I find them.

Sorry I couldn't be of much help yet.

I Got one of the Bass Pro 10 ft poles..It had a wrap with it. We have only been on the lake twice since the Gathering. The handle on the Pole is short and doesn't fit well in rod holders but is great if holding for the Thump ---It will go on my Woholli rod and I will Post later. Years ago I put a wrap from Tennis rackets on one of my fishing poles. For years it was my go to pole.

I used my rod wraps on two older rods that had the black foam handles that had dried and would get black stain all over everything when I used them, they worked great. I like the feel of them and they work in the rod holders too.
I had tried the wraps from Bass Pro but had a problem keeping them on the rods, the ends kept coming loose, I have not had that problem with the rod wraps so far, I guess time will tell. So far I like them and I am able to keep using the two rods that I thought I was going to have to discard because the handles were deteriorating so bad.
Thanks for sharing the products with us and sponsoring the Darbonne gathering with them for.door prizes.

Doc, I placed the wrap I won on the ten foot rod that it came with. The rod was a rear seat model "my first of that type" and the wrap went on without a hitch. Even I was able to get it on correctly. And, as Buster said, so far I have had no problems with it coming loose. I have used the new rod and the rod wrap a few times since the gathering, but really have nothing to compare it to. I don't know if it made the rod more sensitive either since I put the rod wrap on the new rod before I ever used it. However, I do like the way it feels in my hand and wish I had one on all of my other rods. If you have any extras, PM me and I will send you my address. LOL!

Doc I know I'm late in posting this but I finally found the Rod Wraps. I put them on Linda and I's new ESP spinning rods with the Tennessee handles. The rings that hold the reel have a tendency to slip or move during use and come loose. By putting the Rod Wraps I accomplished 2 things, first it locked the reel in place so no more movement. Second it added a layer of comfort to the rods. No more sharp or hard corners to make using it all day a pain. They also add a nice feel of security to the rod as they now don't feel slippery. A very good product and I will be buying some for my other rods.
